May is Lyme disease awareness month and when I told my family, my brother rolled his eyes and said, “they have a day for everything these days”. We then went on to think of ways to spread Lyme awareness other than the traditional eating a “Lime for Lyme Challenge”. Our final idea was throwing limes at people from the top of a parking garage with inspirational and educational quotes about Lyme. Obviously, that was just a silly thought that we had while washing dishes and no, we will not be throwing limes at people from a parking garage… I will however, be sharing Lyme disease information and facts with you.
Throughout the month we might brew up more thoughts, plans, and ideas to pay tribute to Lyme’s awareness month. But for right now I just want to start a questions and answers time. This is going to be happening all month and there are several ways that you can ask your questions.
  1. Leave a comment on the blog post.
  2. Send a private message to either Kevin or I (Victoria).
  3. Put a question on one of the group chats.
Once a week I will be answering the questions that have come in. I might not answer all the questions that were asked that week but I will do four blog posts throughout the month of May focusing on answering your questions around Lyme disease. This can be simple questions or possible myths that you have heard that you are not sure about or more personal questions like how Kevin is feeling or how we are personally fighting this. I will probably lump some questions together if they are similar and if a question is to personal, we will reach out you and answer the best we can.
THERE ARE NO WRONG QUESTIONS! And we don’t have all the answers ourselves. These questions will help us learn more together.
Lyme disease is something that you hear about often and know that it is bad, But before starting on this journey with Kevin, I knew nothing about Lyme disease except that it came from ticks. May is Lyme disease awareness month and I want to do more then just eat a “Lime for Lyme’s”, I want to actually raise awareness and knowledge. So give me your questions and I will give you my answers, to the best of my ability.
